The fridge is often the centrepiece of a Sandton kitchen: a wide side-by-side or French-door model with a water and ice dispenser in the door, or an integrated fridge hidden behind cabinetry. Fridges like these are expensive to replace and very repairable. Most of their faults are in the parts around the cooling system, such as fans, sensors, valves, defrost parts, seals and control boards, rather than in the sealed system itself.
The technician tests the fridge in place, reads any error on the display, and finds the fault. Then they explain the repair and what it will cost before any work starts. An integrated fridge comes out of its housing only if the repair needs it.
We repair everyday fridge-freezers too, in Bryanston family homes, Sunninghill townhouses and Paulshof apartments.

Fridge faults we fix in Sandton
Water dispenser not working
A frozen water line in the door, a failed inlet valve, a clogged water filter or a faulty dispenser switch. The water supply tap behind the fridge is worth checking first.
Ice maker stopped
Ice makers stop when the water supply is low, the fill tube freezes, the ice maker's own motor or sensor fails, or the freezer isn't cold enough to freeze the water.
Leaking water
On a fridge with a dispenser, a split or loose water line, a cracked filter housing or a leaking valve. On any fridge, a blocked defrost drain.
Fridge warm, freezer cold
Side-by-side and French-door fridges move cold air between compartments with fans and dampers. A stopped fan, a stuck damper or an iced-over evaporator leaves the fridge side warm.
Error code on the door display
Most premium fridges report faults with a code: a sensor, a fan, the defrost system or the compressor. Photograph it and send it with your booking.
Inverter compressor not running
Inverter compressors are controlled by their own electronics. A fault in the inverter board can stop the compressor even when the compressor itself is fine.
Integrated fridge door misaligned
The furniture door on an integrated fridge hangs on a slide or a hinge kit. If it drops or twists, the fridge door doesn't seal and frost builds up inside.
Frost building in the freezer
Frost-free freezers melt their ice automatically. If frost builds up anyway, the defrost heater, its sensor or its control has failed, or a door isn't closing fully.
Side-by-side and French-door fridges
These fridges add a water and ice system to the usual fridge parts: a water supply line from a tap behind the fridge, a filter, an inlet valve, a line up the door to the dispenser, and an ice maker in the freezer. Each can fail on its own, and a fault in one doesn't mean the fridge itself is failing.
Change the water filter as often as the manual says. A blocked filter slows the dispenser and the ice maker, and some fridges flag it on the display. If you're away for a while, switching the ice maker off saves it from running dry.
Integrated fridges
An integrated fridge sits inside a cupboard housing with a matching door fixed to its own door. It needs air to flow through a vent in the plinth and up behind the housing. If the plinth vent is blocked, or the gap at the back is filled, the fridge runs hot.
If the repair means sliding the fridge out of its housing, the technician does it carefully and refits it afterwards. Mention a custom panel or a stone worktop sitting tight above the fridge when you book.
After a power cut
Electronic controls and inverter boards are sensitive to surges. During load shedding or a power cut, switch the fridge off at the wall, and on again a few minutes after the power is back. If the display shows an error after a cut, or the fridge won't start, photograph the display and book a technician. Keep the doors closed in the meantime.
After you book
Estate gates and building security can slow a visit down, so share your visitor process when you book. Typically at your door within 60 minutes for same-day bookings. Track your technician live: when they leave, you get a live tracking link on your phone.
The technician reads the fridge's fault, tests the parts behind it and explains the repair and its price before any work starts.
No call-out fee when we repair it.If no repair is done, a R500 call-out applies. The technician finds the fault and explains the repair before any work starts, so you decide whether to go ahead.
Book a repairFridge repairs in Sandton: your questions
Do you repair side-by-side fridges with water and ice dispensers?
Yes. Water lines, inlet valves, filters, ice makers, fans, sensors and boards are all repairable.
Why has my fridge's ice maker stopped making ice?
Usually a water supply problem, a frozen fill tube, a blocked filter or a fault in the ice maker itself. Check that the water tap behind the fridge is open and the ice maker is switched on.
Can you repair an integrated fridge without damaging the cabinetry?
Yes. Most repairs can be done in place. If the fridge has to come out of its housing, the technician slides it out carefully and refits it.
How often should I change my fridge's water filter?
As often as the manual for your model says, which is usually every few months. A blocked filter slows the dispenser and the ice maker, and some fridges flag it on the display.
Can an ice maker be replaced on its own?
Yes. The ice maker is a separate unit in the freezer, and it can be replaced without touching the rest of the fridge. The technician checks the water supply and the freezer temperature first.
What does a fridge repair cost in Sandton?
A water filter, an inlet valve or an ice maker is a modest repair. A fan, a sensor or an inverter board costs more. You'll have the price before any work starts.
