Booking and arrival
How do I book a repair?
WhatsApp us or call 061 402 6299, or use the booking form. Tell us the appliance, what's wrong and your suburb.
How soon can you get to me?
Typically at your door within 60 minutes for same-day bookings. That's not a guarantee: traffic and the job before yours can move it.
Can I track the technician?
Yes. Track your technician live: when they leave, you get a live tracking link on your phone.
Do I need to be home?
Yes, someone needs to be there to let the technician in. If you live in a complex or estate, tell us about gate access when you book.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
No call-out fee when we repair it. If no repair is done, a R500 call-out applies. How the call-out works.
What we repair
Which appliances do you repair?
Washing machines, fridges, freezers, dishwashers, stoves, ovens and tumble dryers, plus small appliances such as microwaves, air fryers and coffee machines, split and portable aircons, and heat pumps for hot water and pools. If it's something else, ask us.
Which brands do you work on?
The brands you find in South African homes, including Defy, KIC, Samsung, LG, Bosch, Whirlpool, Hisense, Smeg, AEG, Miele, Electrolux, Speed Queen, Siemens, Grundig, Hoover, Bennett Read, Kenwood, Panasonic, Sharp, Philips and Russell Hobbs. We're an independent repairer, not an agent of any brand.
Does an electrician fix a stove or an oven?
An electrician deals with the supply: the wiring to the stove, the isolator and your distribution board. Faults inside the stove or oven, such as plates, elements, thermostats, switches and fans, are an appliance technician's job. If you're not sure which it is, book us and we'll tell you.
Power cuts and load shedding
What should I check before booking an appliance repair?
Start with the power: is the plug switched on, does something else work at that plug point, and has anything tripped at the DB board or the stove isolator? Then the simple things: a closed water tap, a blocked filter, a child lock, or an oven clock that needs setting after a power cut. If it still won't work, book a technician.
Why are my appliances not working after load shedding?
Usually because something tripped when the power came back, or the appliance's electronics need a reset. Check the DB board, switch the appliance off at the wall for a few minutes and on again, and set the clock on an oven that has one. If it's still dead, the surge may have damaged a part: book a technician.
Can a power surge damage my fridge or washing machine?
Yes. When the power returns after load shedding, the surge can damage control boards, relays and motors. Switching appliances off at the wall during a power cut, and on again once the power is steady, protects them, and a surge-protected plug helps for a fridge or a washing machine. If one stopped after an outage, book a technician.
Repair or replace
Wondering whether a repair is worth it? Try our repair or replace check, or start with general appliance repairs.
How long should a fridge, washing machine or stove last?
There's no fixed number: it depends on the make, how hard the appliance works and how well it's looked after. Rather than counting years, look at the repair in front of you. Small parts are worth replacing at almost any age; a big part on an old appliance is the case to weigh against a new one. Try our repair or replace check.
