Whirlpool washing machines
On a top loader, the common repairs are the lid switch, the drive belt or coupling, the drain pump and the inlet valve. A top loader that fills but won't spin often has a failed lid switch. On a front loader, it's the drain pump, the door lock, the heater, the inlet valve and the door seal.

Whirlpool fridges and dishwashers
Whirlpool fridges come down to the usual fridge parts: thermostats, sensors, fans, defrost parts, start relays and door seals. Why did my Whirlpool washing machine suddenly stop working?
Check the plug point, the DB board and the tap first, and look for a child lock or a delay timer on the display. On a top loader, the lid must be fully closed. If it's still dead, a power surge, a door or lid switch, or the control board is the likely cause: note any lights or codes and book a technician.
How do I reset my Whirlpool washing machine?
Switch it off at the wall for a few minutes, then on again and choose a programme, or drain and spin first if there's water in it. That clears most temporary faults. Reset buttons and combinations vary between Whirlpool models, so check your manual for yours. If the same fault comes back, book a technician.
What is the most common problem with Whirlpool fridges?

The lid switch is the first suspect. If it doesn't register the lid as closed, the machine won't spin. A worn belt or coupling is the next likely cause.
